I previously posted a question about what was wrong with my Dish Network when it went off on stand by at exactly 3 AM every day, and how to fix it. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100308001907AAB1L6s. I think I may have found a solution to my problem. But here's one part I still don't receive. At the old home, when it went onto stand by in my room, the Dish Network screen would pop up and then you would select no or cancel to cancel the stand by; and it didn't go to the annoying grey and white, like it does here. Now I don't know if that is because that at the old home, in my room I didn't have a reciever, like I do here. I not sure why it does that here and wouldn't there, but I think I may have found a solution to it. I read an article online about what causes stand by on dish network recievers, and it said that a receiver and or dvr will go onto stand by ever 24 hours that the receiver and or dvr is on without turning it off within a 24 hour period. So evidently, I have to turn off my receiver at least once a day to make it cease stand by. I think that that's it because several days ago, I accidentally turned off my receiver only for a minute, and that night it didn't go to stand by. But for how long should I turn it off for? Does anybody know? Could it just be for a second or for several hours? I GREATLY appreciate every of your help!!!!!!!!!!!

I asked why the Republicans didn't tackle healthcare when they controlled the White home & Congress. In response many conservatives said that healthcare wasn't a problem then, and it isn't a problem now. In particular check out the answers from Andy, Richard, Shovel Ready, Cpt accident, and Superdave. Apparently none of them believe healthcare needs to be reformed. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Au5T0VhWazTdKMpDBaNHkuDty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100309115302AACtoIk @ Conservative Tsunami - I agree. From 2000 to 2006 GW Bush was president and the home & Senate were majority Republican. This would have been a perfect opportunity for Republicans to implement tort reform and allow health insurance to be sold across state lines. Instead every we got was Medicare Part D which was entirely unfunded and makes up the largest ever expansion of "socialized medicine" since the New Deal.

This sounds like a bad idea to me. What do you think?? http://www.csmonitor.com/Commentary/the-monitors-view/2010/0309/Immigration-reform-rests-on-a-national-worker-ID It is this corrosive wearing away of the rule of law in America that should be a prime concern as President Obama launches a new effort this month to fix the nation’s broken immigration system. Mr. Obama faces rising pressure from Hispanic activists to fulfill a campaign promise for “comprehensive” reform. They plan a big rally in Washington March 21 to demand action. They know that any bill must start moving through Congress by May to stand a chance of passage this year. And if lawmakers also fail to provide a “path to citizenship” for illegal immigrants, Hispanic groups plan to punish Democrats in the fall elections. After every, they argue, it is their increasing clout in US politics that helped put Obama in the White home.......................The idea is to require a national ID card for legal workers using the latest technology in preventing fraud, such as biometric data about a person’s fingerprints or the veins on the backs of hands. It would be a different nice of identification system than already exists with a Social Security card or with the federal effort since 2005 to standardize state driver’s licenses. And it would either supplant or supplement a current system called E-Verify, in which employers can check an applicant’s status through a federal database. The problems with E-Verify have been many – it is voluntary, fails to flag many illegal workers, and is prone to fraud. Employers seeking low-wage workers have little incentive to use it. Does anybody know if these proposed National IDs would include RFID chips like the new U.S. passports??

Cap &Trade IS BACK. National ID card IS BACK. Personal attacks on insurance companies and republicans to distract from the lack of reform in your healthcare "reform" bill............well that never really left. Is this Obama's attempt at "big bang" pt 2?? (Also, I've noticed how the healthcare debate has devolved into a discussion on abortion and the use of reconcilliation...........at least we're not talking about the individual mandate, right?? lol) http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100309/pl_nm/us_climate_usa President Barack Obama will corral on Tuesday key Republican and Democratic senators whose support is critical for passing a climate change law, seeking to jump-start stalled efforts to overhaul energy policy. Obama called the White home meeting with top lawmakers and members of his cabinet to reinvigorate one of his policy priorities, which even his advisers admit has suffered from the president's intense focus on healthcare reform. http://www.csmonitor.com/Commentary/the-monitors-view/2010/0309/Immigration-reform-rests-on-a-national-worker-ID It is this corrosive wearing away of the rule of law in America that should be a prime concern as President Obama launches a new effort this month to fix the nation’s broken immigration system. I guess my question is: Why did they leave their homeboy behind and not try to help him?

"The America I know and adore is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright bad." –-Sarah Palin, in a message posted on Facebook about Obama's health care plan, Aug. 7, 2009 3. There's ― of course in the great history of America there have been rulings that there's never going to be absolute consensus by every American, and there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So, you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but ―" --Sarah Palin, unable to name a Supreme Court decision she disagreed with other than Roe vs. Wade, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008 5. "We believe that the best of America is not every in Washington, D.C. ... "They are kooks, so I agree with Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh was using satire ... I didn't hear Rush Limbaugh calling a group of people whom he did not agree with 'f-ing retards,' and we did know that Rahm Emanuel, as has been reported, did say that. There is a big difference there." –Sarah Palin, attempting to rationalize why it's okay for Limbaugh to use the word "retards" but not Emanuel, FOX News Sunday interview, Feb. 7, 2010 8. "Who calls a shot like that? Who makes a decision like that? It's a disturbing trend." –Sarah Palin, pushing a conspiracy theory that "In God We Trust" had been moved to the edge of coins by the Obama administration (the change was made by the Bush administration in 2007 and was later reversed by Congress, before Obama took office), West Allis, Wisconsin, Nov. 6, 2009 9. Lawmakers working to craft a new comprehensive immigration bill have settled on a way to prevent employers from hiring illegal immigrants: a national biometric identification card every American workers would eventually be required to obtain. below the potentially controversial plan still taking shape in the Senate, every legal U.S. workers, including citizens and immigrants, would be issued an ID card with embedded information, such as fingerprints, to tie the card to the worker. The ID card plan is one of several steps advocates of an immigration overhaul are taking to address concerns that have defeated similar bills in the past. The uphill effort to pass a bill is being led by Sens. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.), who plan to meet with President Barack Obama as soon as this week to update him on their work. An administration official said the White home had no position on the biometric card. "It's the nub of solving the immigration dilemma politically speaking," Schumer said in an interview. The card, he said, would directly answer concerns that after legislation is signed, another wave of illegal immigrants would arrive. "If you say they can't receive a job when they arrive here, you'll cease it." The biggest objections to the biometric cards may arrive from privacy advocates, who fear they would become de facto national ID cards that enable the government to track citizens. "It is fundamentally a massive invasion of people's privacy," said Chris Calabrese, legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. "We're not only talking about fingerprinting every American, treating ordinary Americans like criminals in order to work. We're also talking about a card that would quickly spread from work to voting to travel to pretty much every aspect of American life that requires identification." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/03/08/id-card-workers-middle-immigration-plan/
